Programming

OEC 2014 is pleased to announce the first ever OEC programming competition. In this competition competitors will be given a previously undisclosed problem that is related to the competition theme and have the weekend to complete the task. The final project will be marked on both effectiveness and efficiency.

Description:

The goal of the Programming category is to encourage software engineering students to produce a piece of industry-quality software with all of the proper user and administrative documents. The teams will use their software development skills, their technical writing abilities, and their project management skills to design a solution to a problem posed. This solution will then be presented to company executives (judging panel) for approval.

Teams:

Up to ten (10) teams of four individuals are accepted into Programming. Teams consisting of computer/software engineering students are recommended, but not mandatory. Multi-disciplinary teams are accepted.
All teams must meet all general entry requirements of OEC.
All years of study are accepted.
